Terms of Use
Last updated: August 2026
Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, creating a DBHelm account, or using DBHelm ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Software or the account portal.
License (BSL 1.1)
DBHelm is source-available under the Business Source License 1.1. You may use, copy, modify, and redistribute the Software for any purpose except offering DBHelm itself as a paid database-management service to third parties. Each released version automatically converts to the Apache License 2.0 four years after release.
Accounts
A free DBHelm account (email + one-time code) is required to download installers from dbhelm.com and to view subscription status online. You are responsible for access to the email inbox used for sign-in. Do not share session tokens or magic codes.
Free, Pro, and Platform
Free tier features (connect, query, monitor, Studio) do not require a paid key after install. Pro and Platform entitlements are unlocked by a signed license key issued after purchase (or trial) via Lemon Squeezy, activated in the desktop app and/or online account. Paid access follows the subscription period and status from the merchant; expired or cancelled entitlements revert to Free. Device seat limits may apply to paid activations.
Payments
Paid plans are sold through Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Billing disputes, invoices, tax, and card updates are handled in Lemon’s customer portal. DBHelm issues and renews license keys based on Lemon webhooks.
Use at Your Own Risk
The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The authors shall not be liable for any damages arising from its use. You are responsible for your own database operations, backups, and cluster management.
Your Responsibilities
- · Maintain secure access to Kubernetes clusters, kubeconfigs, and database credentials
- · Ensure proper backup procedures before destructive operations
- · Use the Software in compliance with your organization's security policies
- · Keep the Software updated for security patches
- · Use Free / Pro / Platform features only under a valid entitlement
Acceptable use
Do not abuse the accounts API (credential stuffing, bulk code requests), attempt to bypass paid entitlements, or use DBHelm to attack systems you do not own or administer.
Intellectual Property
The DBHelm name, logo, and website design are the property of DBHelm Technologies Pvt Ltd. Kubernetes is a registered trademark of the Linux Foundation. MongoDB is a registered trademark of MongoDB, Inc. Percona is a registered trademark of Percona LLC. Lemon Squeezy is a trademark of its respective owner.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
